Lack of oil is what normally damages the crankshaft AND connecting rod. If aluminum deposits are on your crankshaft, you can remove the aluminum deposits, then buff the crank journals and use again, but if there are gouges in the crank, replace it.
Crankshaft only. Make sure to order bearings and seal as well.
